Join us at the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library for a special musical performance featuring the Jamey Aebersold Jazz Quartet! Enjoy the relaxing sounds of jazz music during this free concert. Guests of all ages are invited to hear an inspired collection of jazz favorites. Jamey Aebersold Jazz has generously made it possible for members of our community to experience this full concert of the Jamey Aebersold Jazz Quartet. The performance will feature Jamey Aebersold on saxophone, Luke Gillespie on piano, Jim Anderson on bass, and Jonathan Higgins on drums.

In addition to entertaining audiences with their musical performances, Jamey and his colleagues mentor fellow musicians each July at the Summer Jazz Workshops held at the University of Louisville, providing an intensive learning experience for musicians of all ages and skill levels.

Jamey Aebersold received his Master’s Degree from Indiana University in Saxophone, and was later also awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Music by Indiana University. Jamey is known for his series of Jazz Play-A-Longs (book and CD sets) that allow a musician the opportunity to practice and improvise with well-known jazz personalities. Internationally recognized as an authority on jazz education, Jamey was awarded the 2014 National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master Award, which is the nation’s highest honor in jazz.
