Mobile Hotspot Program To Be Discontinued
This letter is to notify you of a decision made by The Floyd County Library Board of Trustees to dissolve the Library’s mobile hotspot program, following careful consideration. Due to budgetary constraints and a significant number of unreturned devices, The Floyd County Library is discontinuing its mobile hotspot checkout program.
We recognize that this service has been an important resource for many in our community, and we understand that this change may be disappointing. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this transition.
The Floyd County Library will continue to provide free internet access through in-library Wi-Fi and public computer use at New Albany Central Library and Galena Digital Library, as well as free Wi-Fi access at the Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center. In addition, 24/7 Wi-Fi access is available from the parking lots at all three locations. We remain deeply committed to supporting our patrons and meeting community needs as effectively as possible while navigating budgetary challenges and changes in the broader service landscape.
Sincerely,
Melissa Merida
