Job Title: Part time Summer Interns (20 – 25 hours per week)

Classification: Library Intern
Reports To: Central Library Leader
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt – Position is seasonal (May/June – August)

Salary: Minimum $12.00 per hour
Summary: Under direct supervision of the Central Library Leader or designated Librarian, assists patrons with summer reading signups and questions, helps prepare and deliver special events (InstaLibrary, Community Events, Summer Lunch Program and Library Program Kickoffs) and provides customer service support.
- Assist with summer lunches and youth programs
- Assist in carrying out program ideas/activities for youth present at the InstaLibrary sites and other outreach programs.
- Responsible for assisting with set up and take down of InstaLibrary tents and materials at each site.
- Sign youth up for library cards and reading clubs
- Work the Summer Reading Prize Tables
- Check in/out/shelve library materials
- Empty book drops
- Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
- College students majoring in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Outgoing and high energy, eager to work with children, teens and their families.
- Must have experience working as part of a team or group and enjoy working with youth and the public.
- Must be able to work outside and stand for consistent periods of times. while working in InstaLibrary tent and with youth.
- Must be friendly, enthusiastic and responsible
- Ability to work varied schedule, including Saturdays and evenings.
