Harvest Homecoming Photo Competition

Celebrate the 2024 Harvest Homecoming with a photography competition at The Floyd County Library. This is primarily an amateur/hobbyist photography contest. For this contest a professional is defined as anyone who profits from their photography in any way other than photography contests. Professional entries will be judged separately from amateur. Ribbon for first three placings in each category. Amateuer cash prize per age group for Best in Show $100  Professional Best in Show, $150.  No fees to enter.

The competition will be in the following:
Divisions:
  • Children (12 and under)
  • Intermediate (13-17)
  • Adult and Professional
Type:  Color Images, Black & White or  Sepia
Entry Drop-off: Monday, Sept 23rd through Monday, September 30th   (hours: M-Th 9 am – 8 pm; F-S 9 am – 5:00 pm)
Entry Release: Tuesday, October 22nd from 9 am – 7:30 pm
Display Hours: October 7th –  21st during regular Library hours (closed on Sundays)

Photographer Divisions

  • Child (12 & under)
  • Teens (13-18)
  • Adult
  • Professional

There is no fee to enter any division.

Amateur Categories

  • People
  • Landscape (animals, architecture, and nature)
  • Harvest Theme “Autumn Sock-Hop”

Types:

  • Color Image
  • Black & White, Sepia

Professional Category

  • Professional Open
  • Professional Harvest Theme “Autumn Sock-Hop”
