Salary Range: $58,000-$68,000
Summary
The Central Library Leader is responsible for the operations of the Central Library and supervision of public service librarians, assistants, and support staff as pertains to Library services. Responsible for building upkeep and maintenance, working collaboratively with other departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Management of a team of staff responsible for delivering and carrying out services at service desks.
- The review, development and implementation of service polices and service delivery modules.
- Fosters a cohesive vision of service excellence among customer service points within and without the organization.
- Participates on the library leadership team and remaining current on best practices and trends in library profession and customer service.
- Assesses community and library needs as they pertain to customer service; in consultation with Assistant Director of Operations, develops recommendations and plans for continuous improvement of customer service functions in 21st Century; oversees implementation of approved plans.
- Management of a team of Librarian staff responsible for the delivery of front-line library services.
- Develops new services which actively engage with users in all the library spaces, including the provision of roving help.
- Manage the day-to-day service plans of the branches.
- The review, development and implementation of service policies and service delivery models.
- Tracks and reports various formats and collection trends, and related work as apparent or assigned.
- Fosters a cohesive vision of service excellence among public service points within and without the organization.
- Plans and monitors budgets, providing and analyzing applicable statistical and narrative reports, and applying for outside grants.
- Assists in overseeing the implementation of, and monitors the progress of assigned strategic plan initiatives and goals.
- Serves on committees and participates in workshops, seminars, and training as requested.
- Works collaboratively with other members of Leadership team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Strong understanding or willingness to learn various digital platforms to provide patron assistance.
- Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize job responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to maintain and foster cooperative and courteous working relationships.

Experience and Qualifications
- Master of Library Science
- Ability to obtain state library certification within 6 months of hire date.
- Three to five years of library supervisory experience preferred.
