It’s been a while since we’ve put out an update, so you may be wondering – What’s open now at the the library?  We’re happy to report that our entire Upper Level is now open!  Previously, we only had the front lobby open, but we’ve expanded our service.  Just remember to enter through the front doors!  (If you need disability access, please call 812-944-8464, and we can let you in the back door.)

What is available now that wasn’t before?

  • You now have full access to browse the adult collections – including Fiction, Nonfiction, Large Print, Book on Disc, DVDs, and music CDs!
  • There are more options now for sitting at a table to study or use our public wifi on your own device.
  • The public restroom on the Upper Level is now open as well.
  • Our hours have expanded!  We are now open Monday-Thursday 9 AM-8 PM, and Friday-Saturday 9 AM-5 PM.  The hour of 9 AM-10 AM is intended for senior citizens and vulnerable populations.

What is still available the same as it was before?

  • We still have curbside pickup and dropoff available on Ayres Street.  Just pull up and call 812-949-4422 during our open hours.
  • Our computer reservation area is still open on the east side of the Upper Level near the Café.
  • We can still help you print, make copies, fax, and scan to email.
  • You can still pick up your holds in the building if you’re not using curbside services.
  • You can still request Grab Bags to have materials selected for you by library staff!
  • The Children’s and Teen new books are still available in the front lobby, as well as two Children’s displays.  We are also happy to retrieve any books from those collections for you!

What is still unavailable?

  • Our Lower Level remains closed due to renovations, including the Children’s and Teen rooms.
  • Our meeting rooms are not yet available for bookings.
  • Our Indiana Room (genealogy and local history) is currently in the process of being moved to our Upper Level, and the materials are not available for general access.  If you have specific requests, please talk to a staff person or email Indiana@nafclibrary.org.

We can’t wait to see you soon!
