Teens, we see you. You’re juggling school, family and social obligations. You’re working and planning for the uncertain future ahead of you. It’s a lot, and we know because we’ve been there. At the Library, you have access to the entire collection of books and media, plus a place designed just for you in our lower level Teen Scene where we encourage you to take ownership and choose how to use your time.
Have you ever heard of a third space? A third space is a place outside of home and school (or work) where people gather, either together or alone, to explore or simply be. It’s a space where you are part of something bigger, together. So, whether you’re at the library to check out books, play video games, write a paper, answer an all-important question of the universe, or access our Community Corner food pantry, you are creating the community that is the Library.
Because we love community, teen programs are back! Join us every Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00pm for Teen Scene Wednesdays. Each week we’ll offer snacks and a new activity for 2 hours of unwinding from the daily pressures of teenhood. If you’re in middle or high school, this program is for you.
Are you looking for a more structured program? Or, maybe Wednesdays don’t work for you? Never fear! More teen programming is coming, so stay tuned to our event calendar. We’re proud to be your third space. Welcome to the Library, Wednesday and every day.
