Feed your body and your mind this summer with a free kids or teen book at the New Albany-Floyd County Schools Free Meals sites this summer. When you stop by to pick up your meals, you may see Floyd County Library staff handing out bagged books. Make sure you grab one! These are free for you to keep. We want to keep your mind fed this summer, too.
And don’t forget to sign up for the Summer Reading Program this year! It may look a little different, but you can still earn prizes for reading books this summer. Like always, any books you read count towards the Summer Reading Program. Request library books for curbside pickup, download e-books or digital audiobooks to read or listen on your device, or read any books you have at home. And, although summer lunches are just for kids, the Summer Reading Program is for all ages (adults, too!).
Reading goals:
- 9 hours for children and teens
- 3 books for adults
Get a surprise completion prize by mail. Plus, earn grand prize drawing entries for meeting your reading milestones, and bonus entries for reading more. Children and teens can earn grand prize drawing entries for every 3 hours read, up to 10 tickets total. Adults can earn entries for every book read, up to 6 books total. Please complete the mailing address activity on Beanstack so we can mail your prize.
Grand prizes include a Kindle Fire, Lego kit, game kit, knights tent, dragon kite, a 12 month magazine subscription of your choice, and more! Plus, gift cards to local businesses, including J & B Magic Shop, Polly’s Freeze, Empire Comics, Berry Twist, The Elderberry Company, Starlight Coffee, Georgetown Drive-In, Carr’s BBQ, and Grant Line Garden Center & Nursery.
