Have you ever joined a book group? Did you know that your Library offers many monthly book groups that are free and open to the public? If you’re new to book groups or not sure if you’d like to try one, let me tell you how they work.

A book group is a group that meets regularly to discuss a book that (ideally) everyone has read. At the Floyd County Library, our book groups meet monthly on a certain day each month (for example, the third Monday of the month). We provide copies of the book for you to check out. Everyone reads the book before the meeting and then at the book group meeting, we discuss the book. Each of our book groups aims for a welcoming, casual atmosphere – we’d love to see you even if you didn’t finish the book, but fair warning: the discussion will reveal some details of the book and will probably talk about the ending.

So, what book groups do we currently offer? I’m so glad you asked! Take a look at our current book group offerings below. If any of them catch your interest, we’d love to have you join us! Just stop by a customer service desk and we’re happy to help you get a copy of the book or you can search the Indiana Digital Library and see if there’s a digital copy available. All book groups are for adults, unless otherwise specified.
