Last January, we held our first Quilt Club meeting at the Galena Branch! The attendants showed off current projects in progress, looked at different quilt block ideas online, and exchanged ideas about how to assemble some old quilt blocks made of antique flour sack cloth that one attendee brought in.
Quilt Club will be held every 3rd Friday and is open to new and experienced quilters to come and chat, exchange ideas, and work on projects. The Galena sewing machines will be set out for use, but you are welcome to bring your own. Machine and hand sewing projects are welcome during Quilt Club.
We hope to have a few guest speakers come in as time goes on to talk about techniques or other quilt-y topics!
Since this is not a class, basic sewing machine skills are encouraged for all attendants. If you do not know how to use a sewing machine, consider signing up for one of our sewing classes.
If you are interested in sewing clothes, consider registering for a lecture about how to get started with fashion sewing. Check the event calendar for a current list of class offerings.
Or, if you like to work on other types of hobbies, consider attending our Sit N Stitch sessions. These are held on the 3rd Thursday of every month and we have had participants bring knitting, crochet, and embroidery projects to work on while chatting together!
