It’s Christmas Eve and your library is closed today and tomorrow. And next week we’ll be closed on New Year’s Eve and New’s Year’s Day. We’ll miss you! I hope you stopped by to stock up on reading, viewing, and listening material over the holidays. But if you forgot or if you’re out of town, NEVER FEAR! Our digital materials are always available, whether the physical library is open or not!
Have you seen our new Lucky Duck collection in Overdrive? Just like our physical Lucky Duck books, this collection houses some of the most popular titles available for 7-day checkout, no holds, no renewals. We have some great stuff in there, so make sure you’re checking back frequently because you never know what will come available!
Check out these and other downloadable e-books and audiobooks in Overdrive by visiting our Overdrive site or downloading the Libby or Overdrive app (either app works, but many folks find Libby easier to navigate).
And don’t forget about Hoopla, which has thousands of e-books, audiobooks, music albums, TV shows, and movies available for download. Get started by visiting the Hoopla site or downloading the Hoopla app.
You will need a library card to access these services, but if you don’t have one yet, you can get immediate access by signing up for a library card on our website. Click Get a Library Card and then click on Online Borrower Registration. Your online borrower card will be available for 3 months to give you time to visit the library and upgrade to a full library card.
And if you happen to get a fancy new gadget for Christmas or Hanukkah this year, we are happy to help you figure out how to get library books on your device. Both Overdrive and Hoopla have help sections on their website (scroll to the bottom of the page on each), so that might get you started while the library is closed. If you have more questions, feel free to stop by with your device or give us a call and we can help!
Happy reading!
