Whether you’ve been tracing your family history for years or are just getting started, chances are good that organization is a struggle. The sheer number of documents that researchers accumulate, whether digital or on paper, makes organization a daunting task for most of us. Everyone has different work flows and goals when it comes to their family history research. However, there are some things that everyone can do to keep their documents organized.
Join us for Organize Your Family History where Melissa Wiseheart, Indiana History Room Librarian, will discuss how to preserve physical documents and photographs, as well as provide a few different suggestions on how to organize them. Melissa will also show examples of different ways to organize computer files and talk about file names, metadata, storage, and back-ups. There is no registration required.
