This modern-day adaptation tells a story about Jo, an aspiring teen journalist realizing that she doesn’t have feelings for her best friend Laurie… or any boy… As Jo figures out who she is in this queer retelling, she’ll always have the support of her beloved sisters.
Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy by Rey Terciero (e-book available via Overdrive). This graphic novel adaptation tells the story of four sisters in a blended family in New York City. With their father serving in the military overseas, the sisters must come together to address struggles at school, boy troubles, and health issues.
More to the Story by Hena Khan. Four Muslim sisters in modern day Georgia are devastated when their father has to take a job overseas, but it gets worse when one of them becomes seriously ill.
So Many Beginnings: A Little Women Remix by Bethany C. Morrow. Set in North Carolina in 1863, this story centers four Black sisters coming of age on Roanoke Island, a community for recently emancipated African Americans.
