We have had several people asking when the Indiana History Room will be open again. At this time, we still do not know. We are making services available to patrons as it is safe to do so. In the meantime, you can email requests to indiana@nafclibrary.org and staff will respond as soon as they are able.
In many cases, we can send you digital images of the item you are requesting. We have been working to digitize our vertical file collection and much of that is available to be shared via email or Google Drive. We also have many resources available online.
The Library’s Digital Programs and Services page contains links to:
- Ancestry Library Edition
- HeritageQuest Online
- Historic Photographs
- Indiana Room Online Resources (includes Black History, City Directories, Family Bibles, Military History, and various other historical records)
- Newspaper Research (Newspaper Index, Newspapers.com, Newspaper Archive, and Courier Journal)
Some of these links will ask for your library card number and PIN. Others will ask for a password and will look like the image to the right. If you need this password, you can email indiana@nafclibrary.org, or just ask the librarian in the chat box on the website.
We look forward to being able to add more services back in the future and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we have been working on this. We hope that having these digital services available will be helpful for you in your research. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!
