Do you know about SYNC?
Every summer the SYNC program, a partnership between AudioFile magazine and OverDrive, provides free downloadable audiobooks to US residents to encourage teens to read and listen while they are on summer break. The new season of SYNC kicks off TODAY! Each week, SYNC will provide a different pair of free downloadable audiobooks that can be used with the Overdrive app (note: these audiobooks don’t work with the Libby app, but you can download the free Overdrive app to access these audiobooks).
Each pair of titles is only available to download for one week, but once you download them you get to keep them. The titles are a mix of modern and classic books. This year’s titles include awesome audiobooks like Swing by Kwame Alexander, Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor, and Gulp by Mary Roach, among lots of others. Teen readers can text syncya to 25827 to get text alerts about all the featured titles or sign up for email alerts on the SYNC website. This will help you take advantage of all the wonderful titles provided throughout the summer.
Head on over to SYNC to download the first titles of the summer today and then check back with them each week for more great audiobooks. And don’t forget – any summer listening counts towards the Floyd County Library’s Summer Reading Program (coming June 1!).
