On Saturday, April 30, the library will be participating in Floyd County Pollinator Day, presented by Purdue Extension Floyd County and Sunnyside Master Gardeners. This event will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The location of this event is at the Purdue Technology Center of Floyd County located at 3000 Technology Avenue in New Albany, across from Kohl’s on Charlestown Road. The purpose of this event is to educate Floyd County about the importance of pollinators for our everyday way of life.
Come spend the day learning all about Indiana’s native pollinators! This event is family-friendly and free. There will be hands-on activities for the whole family, a pollinator kid’s craft corner, several classes, and more!
Some of the classes featured are:
Container Planting for Butterflies (Times will be available the day of the event)
Native Gardening – 11:15 a.m. AND 1:15 p.m.
Songbirds Need Pollinators, Too! – 10:30 a.m. AND 2:15 p.m.

The Floyd County Library table will include a coloring sheet provided by the Carnegie Center for Art and History along with a take home kit of activities to help pollinators in your own backyard.
