February 20 is National Clean Out Your Bookshelves Day. This is a day to look at the books on your shelves to organize and refresh your reading space. Do you have books you don’t want to read more than once? Feel free to put it in the clean out stack! Did you buy a book thinking it would be a good read and change your mind? If you aren’t sure how to donate the books to the Friends of the Library, here is the information you need:
To donate books anytime, please use the drop box located on the Annex Building (bookstore). They are in particular need of science fiction, fantasy, and horror books, but all book donations are welcome. If you have large donations of books, volunteers are at the bookstore every week from 10 AM – 11:30 AM on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to receive your donations. Or, you can call the Friends Book Store at (812) 949-3739 to arrange another time to donate your books or if you have any questions.
For larger donations, you can also call the Library at (812) 944-8464 to notify us that you have books to donate.
The sales from the books go straight back into the library to help with programming and purchasing necessary items for us to help give you the best library experience possible. So, if you’re ever trying to figure out what to do with books you no longer need or want, please consider helping out your local library.
Happy Reading and Happy Clean Out Your Bookshelves Day!
