We are in the throws of the Holiday season, and singing a lot of Holiday songs. I am even in a competition with my running group to see who can make it to Christmas Eve without hearing the original version of Last Christmas by Wham! It’s a whole national event called Whamageddon. I can happily say, I have succeeded in not hearing the song yet. When December 25 hits, you better believe I will be listening to Last Christmas to make up for lost time.
We all have our favorite songs, but have you ever thought about books that have the same titles as Christmas songs? There are a ton of them! A well beloved children’s poem is brought to life in this book with the beautiful illustrations of Laura Hawthorne. Take a walk through each beautiful scene brimming with details that will remind you of the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas.
Frosty the Snowman by Steve Nelson
Frosty is the most famous snowman in town. Through magic, he comes to life with his corn cob pipe and button nose. He runs around town everywhere while saying “Catch me if you can”!
The Donkey’s Christmas Song by Nancy Tafuri
A special baby is born in a stable, and the little donkey wants to be the first to sing his song of welcome. But he is afraid his bray will sound too rough. So first the doves sweetly sing coo, and cow warmly sings moo, moo. But it is the donkey’s noisy bray that makes the baby laugh with joy.

This song was written in 1934, and when you read this book you will be having fun and singing along by the end. You better watch out, you better not cry…Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town!

There’s a lot of snow, sweaters, and sleigh rides in this book. Follow a family on their walk through snowy scenes. This book is a beautiful and festive celebration of the holiday season.
