August marks back to school for a lot of kids. It’s also an important month for those kiddos who are starting Kindergarten for the very first time. To celebrate August, here are some great picture books for Back to School or Kindergarten that we enjoy, and thought you might, too! 

Froggy Goes to School by Jack London, Frank Remkiewicz, ill. Are you nervous about the first day of school? So is Froggy, but, like him, you’ll have a great time! Read all about it!

 

The School Book by Todd Parr. There are so many things to do at school every day. In this bright book by Todd Parr, you’ll be able to see all there is to learn and enjoy!

The King of Kindergarten by Derrick D. Barnes, Vanessa Brantley-Newton, ill. This colorful and poetic story describes how the milestone of beginning Kindergarten is a jam-packed adventure, full of achievements so big and grand, you’ll feel like a King! Pirates Don’t Go to Kindergarten by Lisa Robinson. Being a preschool pirate is pretty fun, but maybe Kindergarten will be an even BIGGER adventure!? AHOY! 

 

Is Your Buffalo Ready for Kindergarten? by Audrey Vernick, Daniel Jennewein, ill. Kindergarten can be pretty scary, even if you’re a big…buffalo? But if you take a look at this story, you’ll see if your buffalo (and maybe even YOU) are ready for Kindergarten.
