February has a reputation as the month for love, and that includes loving your library, because it’s National Library Lovers’ Month! Libraries have existed for thousands of years, and although the initial focus of the library was to collect, archive, and preserve documents and other writings, the modern library has evolved into so much more. With a variety of programs, classes, outreach efforts, and materials both physical and digital, the library is a valuable community resource with lots to offer. Check out some of the ways that you can show love for your Floyd County Library!
- Get involved with genealogy and local history in our Indiana Room
- Express your creativity at our Galena makerspace
- Donate to or volunteer with the Friends of the Library, or attend their outdoor book sales (starting in March!)
- Reserve a room for study or meetings
- View amazing educational exhibits at the Cultural Arts Center
- Use our many digital services including access to research databases
- Donate to the Community Corner food pantry
- Join one of our book discussion groups
- Keep up with our event calendar to see all of the fun programs we provide for all ages
- Oh, and we’re still all about the books too! Join a reading challenge on Beanstack, browse our catalog online anytime, or enjoy the materials available on Libby and Hoopla
