February has a reputation as the month for love, and that includes loving your library, because it’s National Library Lovers’ Month! Libraries have existed for thousands of years, and although the initial focus of the library was to collect, archive, and preserve documents and other writings, the modern library has evolved into so much more. With a variety of programs, classes, outreach efforts, and materials both physical and digital, the library is a valuable community resource with lots to offer. Check out some of the ways that you can show love for your Floyd County Library!

If you want to support libraries in a larger way, please consider getting involved with the Indiana Library Federation’s IN FREADOM / Freedom to Read initiative or the American Library Association’s Show Up for Our Libraries program.
