Mother’s Day is coming up this Sunday on May 14 (don’t forget!), which makes this the perfect time to check out some adorable picture books featuring moms and grandmas. Grab one or a handful to read together this weekend!

The Boy & the Bindi by Vivek Shraya (2016). When a young boy becomes fascinated by his mother’s bindi and wants one of his own, she explains its significance and gets him one, embracing whoever her child has expressed himself to be in this sweet story.

Great Job, Mom! by Holman Wang (2019). Appreciate all the things moms do in this comforting and humorous book.

Help Mom Work from Home! by Diana Murray (2021). When Mom spends a day working at home, she has so much to do and she’ll need help from her littlest helper to make it through. Can you relate?

Home Base: A Mother-Daughter Story by Nikki Tate (2020). Whether it’s trying out for the baseball team or tackling a big brick-laying job, both daughter and mother face nerves and support each other as they step into roles not traditionally held by women.

Let’s Go to Taekwondo by Aram Kim (2020). Yoomi loves her taekwondo class, but when it comes time to break boards, she falters. Meanwhile her grandma is trying to learn something new, too.
