You may know about the Floyd County Library’s special “Library of Things” collection, but did you know you can check out more than one item at a time? Several of our items can be checked out together to double the fun! Here are a few ideas for some perfect pairings to keep you family occupied over Fall Break.

Outdoor Adventure

Check out our DNR Park Entrance Pass and one of our Birdwatching Kits for an outdoor adventure. The pass waives the gate fee at most DNR parks and is good for one vehicle. The Birdwatching Kits have a set of binoculars and a bird identification book. Pair this with a nature scavenger hunt printed from the internet and a picnic lunch for a full day of fun. You can find a good nature scavenger hunt here https://www.doinggoodtogether.org/bhf/nature-scavenger-hunt.

Movie Party

Make your own movie with your friends using our GoPro camera and watch it on the big screen using our movie projector. Watch it inside on a blank wall or wait until dark and watch it outside. Don’t forget the snacks!

Coding Maze

Make a maze using the Lego Kit or Magnetic Tile Kit for one of our coding robots to drive through. The Osobots are small enough to fit in little mazes!

Making Music

Check out the Dash robot and use his xylophone attachment to make a song to play along with our Ukulele!

Craft Day

Grab the Sewing Machine and our Craft Tool Kit for a fun day of crafting. The Craft Tool Kit includes a paper cutter, a hot glue gun, and jewelry making tools!
