Although the Floyd County Library’s physical locations are closed on December 24 & December 25 and will be closed again on December 31 & January 1 to allow staff time off for the holidays, our digital library is always open and ready to serve you 24/7. All you need to get started is your library card number (the number on the back of your card, no spaces) and your PIN number (usually the last 4 digits of your phone number). If you don’t have a library card, you can sign up for one online to get immediate access to all these resources.

  • Visit Overdrive (or the Libby app) to check out e-books and e-audiobooks. You’ll find some of the most popular, newest titles here. While some might have holds lists,  there’s always the Lucky Duck collection of books available to check out right now.
  • Visit Hoopla to check out e-books, e-audiobooks, and digital media like music albums, movies, and TV shows. While Hoopla may not always have the very latest titles, all titles on Hoopla are available on demand with no waiting and they have an extensive library of downloadable audiobooks.
  • Visit Flipster to browse or download digital magazines, including People, Us Weekly, Consumer Reports, and more.
  • Visit Gale Courses, Lynda.com, or Mango Languages to sign up for free online classes. Scope them out for your new year’s resolutions!

Happy holiday reading!
