We have a lot of great events for tweens and teens at the Floyd County Library.  Our Mix-It-Up Monday program meets Monday nights at 5:30.  The first Monday of the month is our Teen Advisory Board where teens can earn volunteer hours and help plan library events.  The last Monday of the month is Anime Club.  Here’s our line-up of events for the spring:

March 16 – Stage Combat with Kentucky Shakespeare Festival (registration required)

April 13 – Crafting for a Cause (earn volunteer hours and make crafts to help your community)

April 20 – Earth Day Celebration (today’s special program will meet 4:30-6:30 at Joe Kraft Park where we will plant trees and clean up the park with a city arborist)

April 27 – Anime Club

May 4 – Teen Advisory Board

May 11 – Hexbugs

Humans vs. Zombies (Friday, March 13 6:30-8:30) – special after hours program

App Camp (March 23-26 9:30 AM-12:30 PM) – for tweens in grades 5-8, design a cell phone app in this four day camp, registration required, free meals provided

Build Your Own PC (March 23-26) – for ages 16+, learn about computer hardware and how to build your own PC, registration required

MakerWeek (March 23-27) – for all ages at the Galena branch, drop in for different activities each day all day including making a Rube Goldberg machine, making stop motion movies, crafting, coding, Legos and Hexbugs
