A sad tale may be best for winter, but you can beat the post-holiday gloom with our slate of Shakespeare-themed programs for tweens and teens. We’ll be hosting the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival who will be leading a workshop on stage combat on January 12. Registered teens will learn how to perform a staged fight using hand-to-hand combat and swordplay. The Shakespeare Festival will return on February 2 with Hip-Hop Shakespeare, which will pair together great poets of our time with the greatest writer of all time by putting Shakespeare’s sonnets and verse alongside contemporary music. Finally, on February 16 the library will be putting on “Murder Most Foul,” a Shakespeare murder-mystery for teens and tweens. These programs are for grades 4-12 and registration is required and limited to thirty students.
