Over the weekend, my husband and I went to see the movie Love, Simon. Have you seen it yet? It was so great. You should definitely see it. Take a look at the trailer now.

And depending on your preferences you should definitely read the book first OR read the book after you’ve seen the movie. That’s right, it’s based on a book: Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli (2015; 303 pages). My husband’s preference is to read the book before he sees the movie. Mine is actually the opposite. If I read a book before I see the movie, I find it hard to keep from picking apart the movie, criticizing any differences I don’t like. If I watch the movie first, I can enjoy the movie and then when I read the book, I know that’s the way the story was originally written so I tend to appreciate that, too.

As you can guess, I haven’t (yet!) read the book Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, but it’s at the top of my to-read list!

You can pick up this book today at the library or check out the ebook from Overdrive or the downloadable audiobook from Hoopla!
