My current favorite things to read are British mysteries (especially those with Inspector Morse, Lord Peter Whimsey, and Brother Cadfael), and I also really enjoy reading memoirs and historical fiction. My background is in art history, so when art meets mystery or historical fiction (for example, “The Art Forger” by Barbara Shapiro), it’s usually a win for me! I’m also always interested in books about Japanese history and culture. I usually wind up reading “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” once a year; they are longtime favorites of mine and I still get something new out of reading them each time.
